For all that have noticed our post smoke eaters/air purifiers are working well and we hope to have them permanently mounted this month. Also our canteen and Veterans Room has some new pictures of days of old to remember. Hope you all enjoy them. Our Post VOD picnic and Sock Hop for HOPE went really well last month and I would like to thank all who put it together from cooking, decorating, and cleaning up, awesome job comrades and sisters. Reminder that our new post officers' installation is May 10th at 1800 with social hour, some food, the install, and some music and fun to follow. Loyalty Day is fast upon us, May 3rd at 1300. Come out to help our Post support our Fire and Police departments. We'll have hot dogs and burgers for all to enjoy. Our volunteer for this month goes to a comrade who again is behind the scenes doing a great job for our post as editor of the post newsletter. A hand shake and hello goes to Mike Petrovick. Thanks Mike for continuing the job over the years. I would like to recognize Comrade J.D. Mellert and Phil Gardner for receiving from National the veterans pin of Forever Serving award for recruiting and reinstating members for our post. Well done comrades. Bowling on Saturday afternoons at the post has been going great as the bowlers say they have just completed 13 weeks of frolic and are looking forward to their picnic and other interested players to join. The high player was Mike JR with 256. If you all want TO KNOW THE LOWEST, ask Wendy. But they all have fun.

Hello again sisters: Wow, another month has passed and we are getting closer to end of our term. Congratulations to the following newly elected officers:
President Elect, Anna Martin
The hospital visit was a very big, big disappointment. Once again it consisted of myself, my husband Danny and the Commander "Goose". Ladies, it is very important to continue to let our Veterans know just how important they are and to bring them a little joy for the short period of time. Please let's try to take just a couple of hours and make our next hospital visit the best one of all. The visit will be on the 8th. We are here for all of our Veterans!! Congratulations to Robin Scott and all who helped with decorating, food, cleanup, etc. at the Sock Hop For Hope. The Auxiliary managed to raise $1204 to donate to Cancer Aid and Research due to the hard work of the Chairman Robin Scott, thank you so much. As always thank you to all who participated and helped with this very important function. Everyone had a great time and the entertainment was fabulous. The proceeds made from the Voice of Democracy Picnic totaled $777. Thanks to all who participated and showed up for the festivities. I want to personally thank all of the Sisters and Comrades for making our Voice of Democracy Picnic a big success. At last count, I counted 70 people eating lunch and 4 just donated to our cause. It is a shame that more didn't participate, but those of us who did had a wonderful time as always. This is so important to be able to keep the money coming for the Scholarships for our future. Everyone bragged on the food and there was plenty. The cake walk went well and as always, FUN was the word for the day. A special thank you to: Willie Campbell, Jackie Martin and Don Staples for cooking the Boston Butt for our festivities. A very big thank you to the Ladies Auxiliary for such a fantastic meal, and once again you all came through. Some important dates to remember are as follows:
Welcome to our newest member Helen Reumenapp (Shorty's mom) who became a life member. For any sister interested, the next 8 members who either change over to life member or just join as life member will receive a VFW/AUX/MOC/MOCA cook book with some yum, yum recipes, so keep that in mind and change over. In closing, I would like to thank all of our Volunteers, both young and not so young for all your time and effort in keeping our Steak Nights, Wing Nights, Spaghetti Nights and any other function we may have going on. We need each and every Volunteer and we always appreciate you. We may not say "Thank You" enough, but believe me, you are always so much appreciated in every thing you do. See you at the next meeting.

The next Grand Scratch will be 25-27 April in Santee. If you need hotel info please see me or Anna. Hope to see you all there, as always it will be a lot of fun. The third degree was held for some lucky individuals. Congratulations to Jackie Brooks and Eugene Jenkins for surviving the ordeal in good spirits. We also had three hardy individuals from Orangeburg PT 13 attend. Installation of officers was held on 29 March. Congratulations to the officers for next year. Hopefully it will be as good as or better than this year. The officers cannot do it without your help. Please plan to attend the monthly scratches to show your support. We will be doing wings on Wednesday the 30th of April since it is the 5th Wednesday in the month. Need everyone to come out and lend a hand. See you at the Grand in April or at the next scratch on 13 May.

On behalf of the Post, Ladies Auxiliary, MOC and MOCA, sincere get well wishes are extended to: Comrades Ron Kozlowski and Phil Bates, also to Sister Ava Daughtery. Sincere condolences are extended to Sister Kathy and Terry Carroll on the recent death of her son Paul; to Sister Ann Ferguson on the recent death of her husband Comrade Charlie in Youngestown, Florida; to Sister Alice Thomas on the death of her husband, Comrade Derral and to Sister Roxanne and Comrade Bob Ohar on the death of her sister-in-law in Georgia.
Congratulations to Sister Chelsea (McClure) Correa and her husband Tony on the
birth of their daughter, Isabelle Grace. Also congratulations to the proud
great grandparents Larry and Ruth Miller.

The post has still not reached 90% in membership, we now stand at 89.69% with 666 Life members and 186 annual paid to date. That is a total of 854 members now compared with an ending total of 980 last year. We should ALL be out signing up new members and there are plenty in our area eligible! Volunteers are always welcome in all facets of post activities. We can always use help with breakfasts, wing nights and our monthly spaghetti dinner. I am sure that the ladies auxiliary will welcome any who want to help also. Please support your post activities, remember, these activities and the profits from the canteen are what keep us solvent. The expense of operating our post are high, i.e., our utilities alone normally run between $2000 and $3000 per month and, just like all of us, the building is getting older and needs constant TLC. Not a week goes by that something needs repair or replacement. Those of you who have special talents especially in the renovation and repair areas are sorely needed. contagious, potentially dangerous virus that is transmitted orally, by hand,
and even electronically. This virus is called Weary Overload Recreational
Killer (WORK). If you receive WORK from your boss, any of your colleagues or
anyone else via any means whatsoever – DO NOT TOUCH IT! This virus will wipe
out your private life completely. If you should come into contact with WORK
you should immediately leave the premises and take two good friends to the
nearest grocery store and purchase one or both of the antidotes – Work
Isolating Neutralizer Extract (WINE) and Bothersome Employee Elimination
Rebooter (BEER). Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has been completely
eliminated from your system.

Harry Browne states that the Constitution is about what government can do. The ten amendments of the Bill of Rights spells out what the government may not do.

The friars were behind on their belfry payments, so they opened up a small florist shop to raise funds. Since everyone liked to buy flowers from the men of God, a rival florist across town thought the competition was unfair.
